Chin Strap Chambray Popover

This garment was definitely a challenge! It came to me as found, with areas of rust, rot and shredding. All but two of the original black mother of pearl buttons had disintegrated and needed to be replaced, as well as large panels at the back and front. My favorite parts to piece back together was the collar, button plaquet, and reconstructed sleeve cuff. The client requested the repairs mimic those done during the era of the shirts construction. All of the repairs were done by hand, using antique all cotton thread and pre 50s chambray scrap.
